An exhilarating and hilarious new comedy show from Abi Roberts about being English and living in Soviet Russia in the 90s. It’s about learning to become an opera singer, hardcore vodka, Putin, Lenin and the role of matches in outdoor loos in -20 temperatures, as well as what happened when Abi went back to Russia this year, after a 20-year absence, to become the first UK stand-up to perform in Russia in Russian.
Abi is a regular contributor to BBC R4's Midweek, BBC Radio 4's Outlook; BBC World Service Russia and TalkSport/TalkRadio, and she has just filmed her first sitcom/comedy shows: for Sky One playing a Russian woman Irina in Cameron Gordon’s Bucketless, and for BBC Films in Ruth Pickett’s comedy One Under, in a leading role as Lesley. Abi is also a regular on the stand-up comedy scene, performing at major venues including The Glee Club, The Stand, Jongleurs, and Manford’s Comedy Clubs.

Despite starting comedy out of “sheer boredom” just a few years ago, Andy Fury has impressed a lot of people in a short space of time with a wonderful mix of self-deprecating dark jokes and off the wall surrealism.
With a laidback stage presence that sometimes borders horizontal, he’s as hard-working as he is funny and winning the Hilarity Bites New Act Of The Year 2010 title has put Andy on the path to working at many of the best clubs in the country, wowing audiences the length and breadth of the UK.
